​Erin and Antonio are business partners and life partners <3 They met in Antonio’s hometown in Madrid, Spain, while Erin was living abroad. Both are fluent in English and Spanish. Antonio would volunteer at the animal shelter in Madrid and Erin has had an interest in animal care her whole life, working as a veterinary assistant on Long Island from the moment she turned 14 years old until she moved to Spain at 26. Their combined experience in Animal Care is over 20 years, with a love for animals since day one.

 

My Cat Nap Cottage’s story began when Erin’s parents moved to Punta Gorda, and as cat lovers themselves, would take their cats to what was then called The Cat Cottage. The previous owner was ready to retire and had mentioned this to her parents. They called their daughter in Spain, and the rest is history.

 

When we took over the business, we added the majority of large, spacious rooms that now distinguish us from other facilities in the area. We improved the facility as a whole, implemented a client portal system, and have received numerous awards and 5-star reviews, and we always aim to grow and improve. 

 

With that being said, we have expanded our skillset and Erin has used her understanding of felines to become a feline exclusive groomer, while pursuing the title of Certified Feline Master Groomer. There are less than 500 throughout the entire world and Erin is working towards becoming one of them. Months of studying, passing 4 written exams in topics such as health and anatomy, feline temperaments, breeds, and colors, and working her way to taking 5 practical exams showing mastery of each skill in feline grooming, Erin is ensuring that she is the best of the best in order to offer grooming services for her clients who entrust her with their feline family. 

 

Our passion for providing the best in feline care, whether it be boarding or grooming, is continually progressing. We feel that each skill and experience we have had in our lives has prepared us for this and we only improve as we go. We promise to always stay up to date by furthering our education while keeping our mission at the forefront.
